Clothing swaps are a great way to encourage reducing, reusing and sustainability! A fun way to get rid of clothes and add “new” ones your closet. A simple trade, if you will. Hosting one of these has been on my mind for a while. With SNAP benefits about to run dry, which is absolutely horrible, I thought it would be great to pair a clothing swap with a food drive.
Bring non perishable food items to be collected and donated, with the leftover clothes, to Center for Hope & Safety. Making sure people in need of support are able to access necessities, such as clothes and food, seems like it is in the hands of community instead of government. Kind of embarrassing, and also so empowering to have an opportunity to help your own community in this way. That’s what community is about. Uniting. Helping. Connecting.
